Battle Walks

If you are visiting Gettysburg and exploring the battlefield, I strongly encourage you to take advantage of the various Ranger Programs, particularly the "Battle Walks" that are devoted to an in-depth look at a particular phase of the battle or a specific and/or often overlooked area of the battlefield such as:

Meade's planned offensive on July 2 / the "lost avenue"

Longstreet's countermarch on July 2

Johnson's attack on Culp's Hill on July 2

The battle for the Bliss farm on July 2 and 3

The cavalry action at Hunterstown on July 2

Lee's retreat and the Battle of Monterey Pass

Beginning in 1996, the Pennsylvania Cable Network has been filming many of the "Battle Walks", and also telecasts the special "Battle Walks" that only take place each year on the anniversary of the 3-day battle.  Copies of many of the "Battle Walks" can be ordered online by going to the webpage located at https://web33.web.ptd.net/cgi-bin/pcntv.com/pcn_store.cgi (at last count, there were 10 listed from 2007 alone).

I hope to take (or retake) most, if not all, of the ones listed above, and will add a report and photos after each one, so come back often to my website this summer !!!
